LynLake Brewery to close doors after 11 years

Big hole created, following Iron Door in March 2025 and Herkimer in 2020. Lyn-Lake still has an edge on Hennepin-Lake, but the gap is narrowing with these closures.

Took a drive down the newly opened Hennepin Ave. It looks pretty good! It will be interesting to see how it is during rush hour.

I drove southbound, turned around and headed back north at ~2:30pm. Maybe because it's the first day, but there were a lot of cars parked in the transit lanes, and a lot of cars using the transit lanes. Is there a plan to paint the bus lanes red like in NE? Hope the city backs up their "part-time THEN full-time" bus lane promise by tagging and towing cars quickly. I have my doubts.

Construction contract for Hennepin did not include money for red paint. The city could still come back in and lay down the paint later, but why not include it in the main contract? Pure speculation but I'm suspicious that it might be a ripple effect from the decision to allow parking in the bus lanes for 20 hours of the day. Wouldn't he shocked if Metro Transit refused to commit to paying the maintenance cost for such limited transit benefit (per Minneapolis'a recent master bus lake agreement with Metro Transit, the city contributes to initial paint install, but Metro Transit is responsible for maintenance costs to repaint the lane every 3-4 years)

As far as I'm aware it will get painted, there just wasn't enough time to get it done due to the construction timeline. You can only paint in the best of weather conditions, and fall chilly weather doesn't work.

Just walked up and down the length of Hennepin and it is so nice. I don't really remember what was there before but it is an extremely pleasant walking environment. Decent foot traffic too, and that will only improve as vacancies get filled. The Hennepin/Lake intersection had plenty of foot traffic but probably a far cry from Uptown's heyday. It looks like buses are able to use the bus lanes outside of designated times as long as there aren't parked cars. Parking utilization seemed pretty sparse on a Saturday morning but buses were still having to weave in and out a lot.

It is nice but you may have to back track to get to a business where you can't cross the median. I went to the Lowry before it was open and it was sparse and I went there last Saturday and it was packed.
