I want the bikeway because I believe every commercial corridor should have a bikeway so that people can safely access the businesses by bike.

I know that isn’t everyone’s vision, but I think it would make for a great city!

yes... however It seems more dangerous to me to think we should build a bike lane on Lyndale Ave. when we SHOULD be looking at making the alleyway a bike trail instead! From Franklin to 27th it's a clear shot Just a repave and make it a oneway car traffic and then start to work towards phasing out cars as much as possible or more realistic car calming and widening it in areas to allow passing. limiting car speeds and allowing bikes to travel faster. bike lane bollards to prevent cars from traveling the alleyway beyond then end of the block.

The idea is that you don't share the space with cars. Folks backing out of garages and trucks don't really mix well.

Lyndale Ave reconstruction is pushed back another year to 2028. All of the project approvals must happen by next summer otherwise the project will lose $9 million in federal funding. Shouldn't be able to push it back any further without serious consequences.

I say this tongue in cheek, but any businesses seriously concerned about their ability to survive two years of construction should consider moving to Hennepin Ave / Uptown. Plenty of vacant storefronts, with the promise of no road construction for a very long time.
