I mean, it's a 0.6 mile walk to the 100% CBD intersection of 7th and Nicollet. That is very close, compared to almost any North American or even European city. And most of it can be traversed in the climate controlled splendor of the Skyway system!

While in Seattle I rode their Sounder commuter rail from Seattle to Tacoma, and just south of downtown in a rail yard I saw a Northstar locomotive. That got me thinking about who has leased or bought the Northstar equipment. I know Dallas leased some for the World Cup, and Amtrak was supposed to lease some for their Hiawatha service, but beyond that I have no idea where the locomotives and coaches are now.
