It's that time again! Time for another round of comprehensive planning for the city of Minneapolis. Here's hoping its implementation goes a bit more smoothly than last time.
Here's a survey from the city that closes on September 30th. Make sure to fill it out to tell the city how we want it to look in 20 years!

I'm still tired from the last one (and was barely involved).Wezle wrote: September 29th, 2026, 7:32 am It's that time again! Time for another round of comprehensive planning for the city of Minneapolis. Here's hoping its implementation goes a bit more smoothly than last time.

Re: Minneapolis 2050 Plan
My responses to the survey were basically:
-2040 Plan is visionary and very thorough
-with very limited exceptions (Graco, Strib plant, BLE stations) the land use and built form designations do not need to be revisited
-there's an opportunity here to basically copy-paste the 2040 plan, saving everyone the time, money, public process, warring letters to the editor, etc.
-staff should just update the technical aspects of the plan and conduct the minimum public input process required by law and glide this update through Planning Commission and City Council without making it into a whole thing
