Unless it's Virgin Atlantic metal replacing the DL 767-400, no. My guess is they might start other markets like Seattle or possibly Salt Lake City to London.

The Delta announcement just refers to the expanded options due to the joint venture, such as Dulles, Orlando, Miami, Las Vegas, and Chicago which can be ticketed as DL service to LHR.
Too wide to embed, but here's the codeshare map they released today: http://content.delta.com/content/www/en ... 50093Z.png

EDIT: After a brief look, it appears that at least for now the only new routes are Manchester-LA and London-San Diego

Cool news from an old MN company over the weekend:

http://www.theverge.com/2013/6/22/44545 ... ing-system
Drones weren't the only things on display at the Paris Air Show this week. As Wired reports, experimental electric motors were being demonstrated that would allow planes to taxi to and from the runway without needing to power up their regular engines. The Electric Green Taxiing System (EGTS) consists of a pair of 50 kVA motors mounted between the wheels in a planes landing gear. Developed by Honeywell and aerospace specialists Safran, it's claimed EGTS will cut fuel consumption by more than150 gallons per day in a multi-flight aircraft such as the Airbus A320....Article Continues

Nice. I wonder if that 150 gallons of fuel saved includes the extra fuel burned due to the weight of the motors?

Literally the next sentence in the article I linked
Honeywell and Safran believe this could amount to a four-percent fuel saving over the course of a year, also factoring in the effect the additional weight of the system has on planes' efficiency.

Work on the diverging diamond interchange at 34th Avenue/I-494 Interchange start this week. The Blue Line will run down the middle. It will be interesting how that will work. I am sure it will be fine but different.

Also, I saw a tower crane at HHH.

As I said on the MSP Business Journal article about this--
I don't know what's more unfortunate:

That we're spending $4.2 million to make this stretch even more hostile to walkers/bikers/transit riders who wish to access the Delta buildings or Fort Snelling National Cemetery...

Or that this was funded by the Department of Employment and Economic Development's "Transportation Economic Development" program to supposedly provide jobs and economic development but of course not accounting for how this removes long term infrastructure liabilities from MnDOT's books.

Glad to see the economic development has already begun.... delays for travelers :p

I didn't realize they were starting already, but I believe this is the phase 1 plan for Humphrey approved last fall:

EDIT: It looks like the new landside terminal expansion on the east end and the skyway to the parking ramp have already been built. I would be interested in finding out what exactly they are building right now. A couple quick searches aren't helping me out.

^^^

Don't you think the royal family deserves highspeed rail to Rochester for their visit?
Paid for by .... Us?

What commercial aircraft (if any) that currently use MSP can land at Holman field, South St. Paul, Blaine, etc airports?
In other words, could truly local fields support some MSP traffic?

If that's the excuse we need to get the rail built, I'm okay with that.

The sultan's jumbo jet is parked by the Delta hangar at 494 and 24th. I was driving by earlier and couldn't think of a reason such a plane would be in town....thanks, Internet!

Apparently Frontier is one aircraft short of what they need for scheduled service, so they're having Sun Country fly the flight from Minneapolis to Denver to Seattle part of this month. Not sure how that works if it's a wet lease or if it's just a charter, or if they have to put D/B/A Frontier Airlines somewhere on the plane.

Also, Sun Country is flying a few flights a day between Miami and Cuba for a charter consolidator as of this month. http://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/n ... -cuba.html

Our hometown airline sure knows how to milk revenue wherever they can find it.

Frontier is low class scum
Cancelled my connection to denver, thus eliminating me ever using them again.....I have miles that I am slowly disolving of. There reason for cancelling the 4 sacramento to denver flights......lack of business(which is bs, planes were jam packed). gives me choice of delta non stop AT an outrageous price or Southwest thru denver or phoenix or midway. damn almost monopoly!

Question, again, is what, if any, aircraft currently using MSP could use regional airports? (SSP, Holman, Flying Cloud, etc)
