Neighborhood Groups (AKA Neighbors Against........)

Postby stp1980 » July 8th, 2013, 7:10 am

We don't have to keep this thread under Saint Paul, but I think there are more than our fair share of these groups here. I wanted to start a discussion at least to document some of the silliness that these groups seem to be. It's not that I think neighborhood groups do not have a right to have a say what happens where they live, but as we know many of these tend to go overboard and really are probably representing a small minority of people in a given area, and at least in Saint Paul the vocal few tend to get what they want. My favorite new one I saw this weekend in the Selby-Dale area was a sign for "Neighbors Against the Pedal Pub"

How about "Consumers Against Pedal Pubs" or CAPP...

Lawn sign could read, in small type:

"We're just not that into pedal pubs, and we prefer other social activities. Therefore we're just not going to patronize pedal pubs and we'll do something else instead. But if they're your thing, then do whatever you'd like and enjoy your time in our city."
