Yes, updates would be great. It's dead last on a long agenda; I'm working a few blocks away. I plan to trot over when they're getting close. I stopped by when it started this morning; the audience was large but not packed - couldn't tell who was there Dinkytown or other business.

I can't get sound at work so the video feed isn't very helpful. Hopefully someone will live blog it here.

City Council meeting has begun. Colvin Roy was cited as absent, so there are 12 members currently.

I'm not a city council voting expert yet... what happens if there is a split vote?

Colvin Roy is back on the board. Forget the split vote.

If you're on Twitter, @StribRoper (Eric Roper of the Strib) and @NHalterJournals (Nick Halter of The Journal/SW Journal) are good bets for live updates from City Hall.

So the committee report has multiple items on it. I wonder if they can split up the items or if they will first have to (hopefully) vote against adopting the committee report.

Also, Barb Johnson missed that Z&P Committee meeting. The vote could have been 3-3!

Here comes the signs!
Seriously, why did Tuthill just vote down the second item?

Because it's Tuthill. I'm not surprised.

And... Hodges' assistant just emailed me back, saying she'll make sure Hodges sees my email. After the vote on it. *rolls eyes*

If you don't want large footprints, then get rid of parking minimums!

We should print out urbanmsp business cards, and hand them out to people like her.

I got an email back from a Hodge's staffer at 9:27, and an email from Dianne just now at 10:07, both thanking me for my input.

Hofstede claims it is consistent with the Marcy-Holmes neighborhood plan.

As a review, the neighborhood supports this project, albeit by a narrow margin.

"Clearly this project has support, ah, from the neighborhood, as you can see them here. But, screw them, I don't like change."

Sounds like Lilligren is nicely ripping apart Hofstede... is he a known supporter of the rezoning?

Lilligren is clearly doing his due diligence right here. I have to decide if I want to vote for him or not, and seeing that kind of attention to detail interests me.

Schiff made a motion to approve and gave a speech in favor.

Hofstede made a substitute motion to deny and rambled her way through nonsense.

The Tuthill is speaking now, saying that we need to wait for the small area plan to be complete.

Glidden is for rezoning and making a VERY strong argument.
Reich is speaking in favor of Schiff's motion.
