Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
The crane was raised on Saturday afternoon. There's ten or eleven floors to go now- they moved the webcam, so it's hard to tell exactly from that.

Dang! I was already thinking, this morning, that it draws all the attention in loring park as it is!The crane was raised on Saturday afternoon. There's ten or eleven floors to go now- they moved the webcam, so it's hard to tell exactly from that.

Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
It can't yet be the tallest thing in Loring Park though, although I'm sure its relative isolation make it really stand out. Loring Park is such a neat area in so many ways, I really hope there isn't ever a cap on heights for new developments there. It's the best spot in the metro area to have a view of downtown AND the lakes, and it's so close to so many things.
Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
I second the hope that there is never a cap on heights there for the very same reason.
Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
Pouring the 28th floor today , so 8 more floors of apartments with another level of mechanicals hidden behind a crown of backlit frosted glass. Will have nice tiara that is befitting for Loring Park
Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
I believe the crane is now at 379'. So that gives a good mark to view as the finished height.
Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
now visible from 46th st bridge over 35w. as previously noted the building looks great from the east and west via freeway. and or course looks awesome overlooking loring park.

I feel like there should be some sort of UrbanMSP party when this gets topped out...

Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
There's at least 5 floors for the podium, and I counted 24 floors above it.
I never noticed this before but the podium is essentially the same height as most of the surrounding mid-rises and the tower starts where most of those mid-rises leave off, giving the building the look of a more slender tower without a podium from the photographer's point of view. I'm SURE the architects thought of this when designing the building, but I'm just now catching up to their creativity.

Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
I believe mostly parking for residents (and their guests) and some form of retail establishment(?)
Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
Very nice picture
Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
But will the podium level be strictly for amenities or will there be a few apartment on that level. I'm pretty sure that the east half of that level will be for the clubhouse, gym, and lounge.31, actually. There are 30 balconies + 1 "ground" floor that walks out onto the top of the podium.
Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
the podium is 50.5 feet tall... which will be 5 floors. In that 5 floors, there will likely be more than 5 levels of parking. There is an additional 325.5 feet on top of that podium that will accommodate 31 floors of apartments and a crown.
both the 38 and the 36 story tall buildings show a 5 story pedestal. But... the 38 story building was a preliminary plan. 36 is what's happening. 5 (parking/podium) + 31 (apartments)
I believe the podium will strictly be parking and a few shops. It appears the first floor of the tower (sitting atop the podium) will be the amenities level (floor 6).

That's a nice indoor lap pool and the outside patio area looks kind of formal with all the lounges lined up like that.
Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
Would be pretty awesome if the pool area walls open up and to make it indoor/outdoor space.

Whoever inserted "(376' - 36 Stories)" in the title is incredibly Minnesotan and I thank you.
Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
The lap pool is a much better amenity than the "splash" pools you see in other projects. You can actually use this pool to exercise. That's a nice indoor lap pool and the outside patio area looks kind of formal with all the lounges lined up like that.
The "topping off" of this project should happen in about 3 weeks. The traditional placement of a Norwegian Pine at the highest level( maybe with Christmas lights ) should happen just in time for the holiday season.
