DWR had closed and moved out. I'm not sure where they'll reopen but a sign says they will.
Q. What, what? A. In da butt.
Re: Uptown Retail News
I suspect it will be the space on washington ave in the mill district that is supposedly being developing for an international furniture company... If not there, probably somewhere near the Galleria in Edina.

Re: Uptown Restaurant News
The plastic covering the "Bone Yard" had increased. I think that they are working on the patio under there. I'd say that they are laying a brick or block patio, as I saw no real way to deliver concrete close to the Hennepin end of the enclosure. Time will tell.

Re: Uptown Restaurant News
Our company has The Bone Yard as a mall tenant someplace in NY I think. Too bad a national chain is going in here, even if it's replacing a regional chain like Old Chicago
Re: Uptown Restaurant News
This isn't a national chain, it is part of the Crave group...so it is a local "chain" of sorts.
Why would it be so bad even if it was a chain? Especially one that was one of a kind in this market? Chains are not inherently evil as so many on here seem to think, there actually aren't even many national corporate restaurants in Uptown. I think it is fine to have a few thrown in, a good mix.

Re: Uptown Restaurant News
They have a proposed restaurant layout posted on their Kickstarter page, and based off the shape of the space, I'm thinking they might be eye-balling the former Dunn Bros location next to Brugger's at Lake and Humboldt. Thoughts? https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/20 ... usage-a-re

Re: Uptown Restaurant News
Bummer on the location, I'm sure most of us were hoping the Bruegger's/Dunn Bros building would be combined with the burned-down condo site next door for a mixed-use redevelopment. Surely something like that has to be on the property owners' minds, or a developer is targeting the site. I'd hate to see these guys pour their life savings (and Kickstarter funds) into something that's only going to last a few years...
Re: Uptown Restaurant News
I could be way off; just speculating.
Re: Uptown Retail News
I was walking the dogs yesterday and there was definitely blue prints sitting on a table inside the vacant retail space at Blue. That combined with the drywall just sitting in there leads me to believe there might be SOMETHING going on. Anyone have info on this?
Re: Uptown Retail News
Just walked by and I'm embarrassed that this is the image that I get associated with. Not sure what she means by a lack of stores catering to the GLBT community. There are plenty of stores that cater to me: her's ironically doesn't. I am surprised that by now there are no reviews anywhere: not even yelp or google reviews. As good a description as any:Where is the GSpot?

Re: Uptown Retail News
I'm taking that to be the corner retail space in Blue that has set empty for ever.
Re: Uptown Restaurant News
Looks like the BoneYard will have 3 operable roll up doors facing the new patio, see the area under the plastic in above photos. So it looks like they will have a decent sized patio which will unfortunately face the parking lot.

Re: Uptown Retail News
Yes, that would be the corner spot in Blue.
Does anyone else think the reason these retail spaces (in both Blue & the apartment complex across Aldrich) have sat vacant for so long is that they're simply ugly? The retail bays in Blue look like garage doors or storage units to me.
