Yeah, looking at the penthouse floorplans, I presume that's not the floor with taller ceilings? It's a bit hard to tell, but part of the penthouse floor is dedicated to mechanicals.Sooo, it looks to me(while driving by, and looking at the webcam) that the top concrete floor is part mechanical and a bit taller...will this be the floor with the frosted glass? If so, I don't like that they are leaving that rooftop mechanical sticking out like a sore thumb. I was hoping it would be covered.

Hmm...yeah, actually, looking at the floorplans maybe there is another "floor" to go up to shield the mechanical on the roof. Hope so.

Ha! That is my friend Kate in there...she is doing leasing for them.

I thought the same thing when I saw it in person the other day. It is VERY temporary.

Crown installation has begun. If you look closely you can see that the crown appears to be mounted to the highest concrete floor, but extends both up and down from it. It looks to me like the penthouses will have very high ceilings, unless they install false ceilings for some reason. Now I'm starting to glimpse how an apartment could be worth 4800/mo. Exciting...

Yeah, the cielings are really tall, but I would never pay 5000 for an apartment where i have a super bright light shining into my window all night. Maybe the crown won't be lit up after all? A disappointing thought, but this design seems like it would reflect a lot of the light into those apartments

After seeing this for the first time live.. It reminds me of a "typical much shorter Minneapolis" version of the museum tower in Dallas.

We are certainly entering the construction-progress porn season! Squeeee!
Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
It seems the north side of the crown/top floor look different than the south side (pictured). Does anyone know why that may be?
Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
I really like the base on this project. Doesn't try to do too much, but it is well-proportioned, clean, and very open at the street level. Really nice addition.
Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
I think the crown is the same one both north and south sides, it's just an inverse of the other side. it juts out at 90 degrees where the balconies are on both sides and then swoops back with the buildings curve.

The design of this building make for some soaring photos from the ground and interesting views from the east and west. Looking north from Franklin it's a squat dud...
Q. What, what? A. In da butt.
Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
Agree, doesn't show off its figure as well from Franklin, but then nothing's perfect. The rest of the views from different vantage points are great though. The base looks better now that it's becoming more finished and looks very modern in an attractive way, but I think the design still feels a little introverted, especially during daylight hours. At night the ramp's frosted glass exterior is lit up from the inside and it looks more lively from the street. The design of this building make for some soaring photos from the ground and interesting views from the east and west. Any ideas what retail will fill the lower floors yet? I am foolishly with fingers crossed for a Trader Joe's.
Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
does the retail get some free parking in the ramp? if not, i'd cross out a trader joe's as a possibility. they seem to be stuck in the 60's when it comes to parking.
