I don't know how I feel about this "No Humping" policy!

I agree. I'd prefer if they humped.

I'm pretty sure you can go to Northtown in N.E. Mpls, or Hoffman/Pigs Eye in southeastern St. Paul, and you can see all the humping you'd want (out in the open) all day and night. I hear it gets rather noisy.

I'm pretty sure they put the "No Humping" there to keep the LRT and transit fetishists away. Probably had some bad experiences in the past.

The new LRT vehicle is sitting just inside the south maintenace doors at the Franklin storage and maintenace facility. The front changeable sign read Green Line an had a green square to the left of the text. Couldn't posibly snap a photo from my seat on a southbound blue line seat.

I am looking forward to seeing photos of the new LRVs. Interesting that you said there was a green square next to "Green Line". The current LRVs aren't capable of displaying that, which suggests to me that the Bombardiers may be retrofitted with new destination signs that can display color.

Think there will be any upgrades of the dynamic signage on the Bombardier fleet to allow for clearer distinction of Blue vs Green?

Cool...we're growing up. I wonder how long it will take to get the green line done down to Eden Prarie and the Blue line up NW?

I would guess no, the ad wraps really don't allow for better signs. My guess would be for the 5 downtown stations where the blue and green cross they would be better off with updated signs at the stations. For example they could add a small sign next to the existing LED hanging sign at the station and have it be a solid color (blue/green) informing of the current train at station and next arrival train.

seems pretty simple technology given my phone can identify when my 11 bus will be arriving :D

*EDIT* notice the sign on the side already... I never noticed it myself but I guess they already have the ability for signs?

I don't see why the ad wraps would have anything to do with replacing the signs. The description of the signs on the new cars sounds like they are just like the new Portland cars.

you mean updating them to show color then I guess they might do that... but besides that i doubt nothing new and exciting for side signage besides the existing tiny sign

I don't think wraps cover the windows on the train anymore. I could have sworn I heard a few years ago that rider surveys said they were awful (they are) so Metro Transit was going to stop using them (once their current contracts finished).

There are some lights on either side of the front numberboard, so I've been thinking that they might get used to display the line color. They are configured as amber and red right now, though -- I'm not sure what they're technically there for (marker lights?).

Are they ever going to get NexTrip on these things?

Don't see the point. Trains (generally) run on time- IIRC, exceptions are listed on station marquees

It would be helpful during events when they have all trains running or weather delays. And of course downtown when the green line gets going.
