This is not a normal day in September. I'm sure plenty of people will be sitting there next week.

Based on my 29 years here - no, it's really not. We have occasional chilly September days. But it's been an unusually long stretch of them. Not Biblical, but not normal.

There's a very good reason why I refused to click on them

I can't help myself and I don't know why. And yet even when I know exactly what stupid comments are going to show up, something even stupider makes an appearance and I'm blown away.
The problem with being an introvert online is that no one knows you're just hanging out and listening.

Like they're going to start to sit down and some random people are going to come out and grab them and say they're only for looking, not for sitting?
Look up Chris Lollie.

To me it seems like most of these parklets are similar to what most of the nicer patios on Nicollet Mall look like. Seems like another approach could have been to award monies to businesses that don't have outdoor presence to create/maintain something.

Or to just permit them to spend their own money...

Blech. I disagree with about 7 out of 8 of those points.

I didn't realize they had a name but there's been one in front of Gianni's in Downtown Wayzata for the last several years.

If that's the one I've seen, it's actually a strange/bad design that pushes peds into the parking lane with patio on the sidewalk. Srsly sidewalks can split patios and restaurants.

That's not a parklet. That's owned by the business and only open to people who buy food or drinks from said business. It's fenced up and for patrons only
