who merely wanted the board to follow its usual process of waiting two weeks for public notice for a vote before drawing down $500,000 from its reserves

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
This is the same park board that can't afford to keep neighborhood wading pools open, correct? Just checking.

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
The MPRB doesn't have enough money. But they were able to pull $500k in reserves for a lawsuit against a city partnered organization. Wonderful
Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
Perhaps it's time for some new commissioners.

Folks, this is further evidence of the privilege enjoyed by the few.
Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
burning money and throwing it down a toilet. a waste in light of commissioners public statements about budget shortfalls.
wasn't that water channel the result of dredging way back in the day? it's not a natural feature.

Normally, I'd agree wholeheartedly. But knowing this is nothing but a waste of money, let's just call it what it really, truly is: Stupidity.Folks, this is further evidence of the privilege enjoyed by the few.

3C? Too soon?
Seriously though, what is the best way to collectively voice displeasure with this STUPID expenditure by MPRB?!

Contact your park board rep. And then blast social media. Electeds pay attention to Facebook.Seriously though, what is the best way to collectively voice displeasure with this STUPID expenditure by MPRB?!

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
This is a great point. I think it'd be a good thing for UrbanMSP or something of the like to create a place (other than here) to 'spread the word' on social media about these things. I feel like the more eyes and voices, the better.Contact your park board rep. And then blast social media. West Calhoun N'hood and CM Palmisano are hosting an open house/discussion about the West Lake Station design tomorrow night.
I might try to make it there.

Found these on the Met Council site. The plans are dated with September 2014, most updated plans I've seen yet if anyone wants to check them out

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
When did they change from a tunnel to a bridge over 7th St on the back side of HERC? I recall the plan being a short tunnel under 7th leading to the Royalston station, but the new plans Grant posted show a bridge now insead.
Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
I think it first became public as the designs for the Interchange became finalized, but I have to imagine it had more to do with Bottineau and how it would cross the intersection of 7th & Olson than with the other two projects.
Why would they rebuild the frontage road that Royalston becomes as it curves to parallel Olson? Is that design even allowed anymore? Here it is particularly pointless.

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
The fences separating the regional trail to the tracks are already up. They have a notice/fact sheet inside the Hopkins depot on where the nearest station will be and how the train will interact with the trail and pedestrians

No posts on SWLRT for over a month? That has to be a record in the 2.5 year existence of this forum.

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
we're just waiting to see how the park board's lighting on fire of money they supposedly don't have goes. crying poverty on basic park upkeep but then spending hundreds of thousands on studies to appease rich constituents.
