they are pouring concrete on the top level again - you can see it on the Web cam right now.

On the webcam you can see them dropping off extension pieces for the crane. I think we can put to rest any concerns that 4marq won't reach its expected height.

The top of crane is out of frame now on the webcam. So its has been raised.

Anyone know why black panels are going up in many of the window openings?

Perhaps you may have assumed that all openings were windows.

Like in the renderings? The black panels have always been in them.

That's too bad about those black panels, it would really be something special if those were somehow all windows. I suppose it could make some layouts difficult but I personally would LOVE a windows that big across the entire unit.

I never noticed them in the renderings before, but now they are impossible to miss. There do appear to be more going in than the rendering shows. Maybe not. Either way they look terrible. Couldn't they have put in opaque glass to make it seamless?

Oh god, I just assumed those were closed blinds or opaque glass, not solid panels. Ugh... not so sexy looking.

The panels are anodized aluminum. They will have a pattern which will probably look better when the exterior is more completed. I think they are not black (as some have stated) but actually dark bronze. I guess I would have chosen a lighter bronze panel (more like copper) to give the exterior a warmer, more colorful look, but that's my taste.
It will be interesting to see the mesh façade of the parking podium and how that plays out. I still think this could end up looking pretty good at least compared to Nic on Fifth. We will see.

The black panels are where the Magic-Paks are being installed. They're all electric heat/cool units.

I wondered if that might be the case, but I haven't seen Magicpaks on other towers, so I figured they weren't being used here either.
