I don't know why I thought this was going to be a really beautiful building form one of the original renderings, but man, what a disappointment. I agree though, good to have it filled in for sure.

The grade around this site is a little bit tricky, but it seems like they didn't even try to mediate it.

"Just stick in some more retaining walls, it'll be fine."

This design reminds me a lot of the Greenleaf on Lyndale.
Just, you know, with significantly higher rents. :geek:

It's unremarkable, but it sure is nice to have that lot filled.
Agreed. It sure beats that half-built concrete mess that lay fallow for years. The hidden-in-that-picture side that faces the trench really came up short though.

WOW. Stop me if you've heard this one on this forum...I couldn't disagree more (with Nick).

I think the Greenleaf is a really nice building. The fact that it is "affordable" makes it even more so. "Developer driven" projects right now go like this: % of budget allocated to the "design/architecture" of the overall building is y. % of budget allocated to "amenity spaces" = y x's 4. I haven't seen The Paxon's amenity spaces but judging from the exterior and the fact that this is a "market rate" project, I'd bet that the finishes in the amenity space are nice and that is where the money was spent because it DEFINITELY didn't go into the shell of the building.

Did anyone hear how he died? I mean I heard complications from a surgery, but I didn't hear specifically what had occurred (i.e. infection, etc.).
