The Arby's looks ready to be demolished, but the plasma center is still open for business. Any idea when they want to break ground?

MN Daily article about this development:

http://mndaily.com/city/business/2013/0 ... omplex-yet

Apparently, it's "imperative" that they break ground by February for a Fall 2015 opening. CSL has been successfully relocated (to "Uptown", says the article - never mind that it will be west of 35W), so the site is all ready for demolition, once the other details are worked out.

To many U of M students, "Uptown" means "Minneapolis south of I-94". These are generally the same ones who will say, as seniors, "The Stone Arch Bridge? I've never been there!". It's super frustrating sometimes.

Of course, where I wrote "west" I really mean "east". What's up with all these idiots who can't get their terminology right? :)

The new plasma center on Lake is (unsurprisingly) already under construction.

F&C says that the four parcels making up the 1.95-acre WaHu site have been sold for $8.05 million, close to double the assessed value of $4.2 million. Kayne Anderson Capital Advisers and CPM Development are the buyers, through an LLC they created. Remediation work expected to begin in January and groundbreaking in February, with the intent of taking residents for the start of the 2015 school year.

Fences and staging equipment have been moved to the site. Dirt mounds hover over the parking lots. Brace yourselves: construction is coming.
