The Walkway - (1312 West Lake Street)
Re: The Walkway (1312 West Lake Street)
Does anyone know who the leasing company is for this project?
Re: The Walkway (1312 West Lake Street)
They have sealed off part of the first level closest to the movie theater to do some interior work. They are still working on the south/west corner to finish up the parking levels so that column can be place and then floors. I expect some wood construction starting on part of what is up in place in the next week or so.

From the Calhoun Square side at Girard and Lake. Looks like that corner has filled in a lot more. I didn't see any wood on the 2nd floor yet.
Re: The Walkway (1312 West Lake Street)
There is just a small section of the lower floor that is left to go up. Also they were delivering the wall section for the second floor as well as joists.

I just did a walk by today and they pretty much have over half of the first story of stick built. This is going to look pretty large next to the single story Cheapo.

A full 2nd floor of wood now.

Just drove by this site. Unreal how much density this one building will add to the neighborhood. Will be really great!

Found an updated rendering of this project. Has a great animated street level. Nice modern design that fits right into Uptown's character:

Wait, that really is a pool??? Lordy. Also, a few too many materials again.
Q. What, what? A. In da butt.
Re: The Walkway (1312 West Lake Street)
Yes, a little overdone , but nice to see something not quite so prim and proper going up. I think it will work itself out better than some of BKV's other designs.Wait, that really is a pool??? Lordy. Also, a few too many materials again.

If the trees and planters are done well, I could see that being one of the little things that adds a lot to the street presence.
Edit: Also, yes, I don't really see the point of these pools in projects a few blocks away from the lakes

A pool is a great amenity to have for a project where you are charging top rents. I know apartments a block from Calhoun that have pools that are always busy. There is added convenience, usually cleaner, and you can legally drink at a pool. But the Walkway pool seems like it must be pretty small. Perhaps more of a hot tub?

Plus, there's people like my wife who prefer a pool to a lake or beach because it's not as dirty.
Re: The Walkway (1312 West Lake Street)
Pool/Hot Tub... totally called it ;D That is going to be SO cool looking from the street. I love the updated rendering. This and Lime improved from original renderings... which track 29 would have... A lot of materials used here, but at least each face of the building is fairly cohesive.

Anyone see Oblivion? That pool was so cool. Then again so was the house.
Re: The Walkway (1312 West Lake Street)
The street level has lots going on as far as variation of materials, shapes, windows, etc. It's very modern and sort of unpredictable and whimsical. This is exactly what the Uptown retail corridor should strive for to enhance its character. The idea of looking "correct" or "proper" fits better for downtown Wayzata.Pool/Hot Tub... totally called it ;D That is going to be SO cool looking from the street. I love the updated rendering. I had a beer on the Uptown roof (used to be Drink). Great view. As you can see, just the first floor is even with the rooftop bar. The walkway will really loom over this area, even getting above Stella's.

Re: The Walkway (1312 West Lake Street)
A lot of these developments seem to have this very high 1st floor too (e.g. Lime). I wonder if that's part of the zoning regulations on Lake St or Lagoon?
Re: The Walkway (1312 West Lake Street)
if you look at the rendering, it's not just the first floor. there will be 2 floors in that space. correct me if i'm wrong, though.
