A rather glowing piece about Minnesota's energy strategy in the New York Times:

Although the article is nominally about the Minnesota Timberwolves' power forward Kevin Love, it has probably one of the best written outside perspective of Minneapolis I have ever read.

I love the ending! Not sure it's the best perspective of Minneapolis I've personally seen but it's a good one, and fairly accurate.

Very well written indeed!

I like how Minneapolis ranked 58th in weather, but St Paul ranked 68th. I didn't realize the weather changed that much as you crossed the river...

Minny was 76th, St. Paul 68th.

Cincy #1? What?! I've lived in two of the big 3 Ohio cities but not many people in Columbus (C-bus) or Cleveland yearn to be in Cincy because it's so much more fun. Perhaps it's a highly guarded secret?

Right up there with Jackson Hole, WY and Hayward, WI...and Austin was listed #1. Some of these lists really don't mean anything.

Best outdoor town according to Outdoor Magazine. Kinda sounds legit. Duluth is a hell of a mountain bike mecca, plus all the North Shore.

MNdible
is great.

I've got tons of love for Duluth, but this was an online voting contest. Give Duluth props for being organized and motivated enough to win this contest, but to suggest that this is in any way an objective judgement is to miss the reality.
