I hope the city could come up with a long term guideline (maybe as an easement?) that all future redevelopment on the west side of France, from this south to Minnesota Dr. and north to 66th, make extensions to this pedestrian space. Not to de-emphasize pedestrians on France, where we want commerce, but in addition to it. It would be a big asset.

The Southdale District Plan talks about these woonerfs not only here, but also paralleling north-south streets in between France & York. There may be some going east-west, too.
