I walked through MC2 on the way to Kieran's on Tuesday, and did comment to myself about how large that JJ's is. It seems weird that the employees behind the counter can't even see the interior entrance, but I guess there's no reason they'd need to, since you pay before getting your food so there's no risk of dine-and-dashing.

We're now home to the largest Jimmy Johns location in the world at MC^2

#proud! ;)

Meanwhile, talking to an employee of the Franklin and Nicollet location, they were told they will have to wait at least a month for a working air conditioner, because they had sunk so much money into the Mayo Clinic Square location...

There is a deal in place to sell the Solera building.

I wonder what'll happen to their ghost sign along 9th? I kinda hope it's left alone.

Good news for the street and the restaurant. The space was pretty sad. I worked at the Ahwatukee and Scottsdale Melting Pots and they were much nicer than this on is.

The old way, you'd barely know it was there from the street.

One of my greatest regrets is that I never made it to "Johnny Tequila's Drinking Taco".

I will not make that mistake again.

Brut is opening in the old Sapor space in the North Loop. Pretty big deal chefs, too. It'll be nice to have that space active again!

Devil's Advocate weighs expansion amid development
http://www.journalmpls.com/news-feed/de ... evelopment

This article has a lot of good tidbits. Glad to see Devil's Advocate looking to come back to the new development, if possible. But they're also looking at other locations - and possibly a 2nd location for their brewery.

That will probably sit empty until they get the Hen/Lyn bottle neck finished in a few years. Nothing kills a restaurant like road construction out your front door.

Not sure if the Walker/Sculpture Garden overhaul would have had any affect on them also.

Au revoir restaurant français en centre de Minneapolis.

In all seriousness, what did we do to the French!? (I know this was his own decision)

Also good to see this quoted,
Outside Vincent’s front door, Nicollet Mall is undergoing a disruptive, multiyear remake, but Francoual said his decision to close was not related to road construction, a chronic restaurant killer.

He also noted that issues cited by other recently shuttered or soon-to-depart restaurants — increased competition, cost pressures from the boost in the minimum wage, opposition to the proposed Working Families Agenda currently before the Minneapolis City Council — did not play a role in his decision, either.
