It looks like Opus is calling this the Venue at Dinkytown.

Foundation pouring is underway. It's starting to look like they're going to leave the foundations from the House of Hanson building in place and integrate them into the new structure.

I noticed that too last week. Was confused why they werent working on that area, but that would make sense now.

They may just be leaving the old foundations in place as temporary retaining walls while they put in the new foundations.

When I went by a month or two ago they were very carefully cutting around the old foundation in a manner that led me to believe they were preserving it.

The old Pacific & Maine retail store next to Al's Breakfast looks like it is being renovated into a leasing office. I wouldn't be surprised if it was for The Venue.

Hey guys. I live in Dinkytown and (hopefully) will be able to post photos of various projects routinely.
Here's a slightly-distorted shot of the Venue (formerly House of Hanson) site.

PS. Could somehow explain how to embed an image? I'm assuming that's preferable..

Also, it is a leasing office, but it's for The Marshall, I think. I walked by this weekend, but didn't look too closely..

The leasing office for The Marshall is closer to 4th Street next to Royal Tobacco. Pacific and Maine is a separate space closer to 5th Street...

The Marshall leasing office has been open for a while. This one looks to be wrapping up, but I still can't tell if it will be for the Venue (although likely).

Concrete columns near the retail corner of 5th & 14th went up earlier this week. Starting to see the full skeleton.

Looks like it's up to the 4th (or 5th) floor now, I think: Image

Wife and I stopped by Dinkytown for some grub. I really think this building is going to feel great against the sidewalk...

Just got an email saying the next 10 renters get a $1000 gift card. Looks like they've kinda overshot on the luxury student rental market.

So, today I stood on 14th Avenue near Blarney. Looked down the street. And all I can say, is there was no need to try and stop this project with its current proposal. The two story brick portion on 14th fits in perfectly with the rest of the buildings on the block. And the taller portions that are set back fade away and are not prominent at all. This project looks great, if you ask me.
