Miami has more very tall buildings perhaps, but outside of the downtown coastline it is flat as a pancake. I will take Minneapolis's sustained medium density neighborhoods over that any day.
Not to mention, so much of the housing there is empty most of the year, just a way for global wealthy to claim Florida residency and pay no income tax (also cannot have home taken away by courts, the reason OJ moved there).

Re: The Skyline
I never really understood the dislike/criticism of Riverwest Condos until I took this photo a couple weeks ago:
Riverwest blocking the whole skyline by twincitizen, on Flickr
That is really unfortunate.

Re: The Skyline
Too bad it's not 50 stories higher... LOL
Re: The Skyline
RiverWest definitely isn't the prettiest building. However, I had some friends who just moved in there and their downtown skyline view is spectacular.

Re: The Skyline
Well yeah, they block it for everyone else on the East
Re: The Skyline
we just need more skyline to the east!
Re: The Skyline
Riverwest is the "City Center" of the riverfront
Re: The Skyline
I'm tucked away several blocks into the western part of the Marcy Holmes neighborhood barely above the ground and still have a pretty spectacular view of Capella and sometimes Wells Fargo (foliage withstanding). Actually admiring the view as I type this. It's more a spectacular bit of luck than anything else with the perfect align of a vista, but that's neither here nor there.Well yeah, they block it for everyone else on the East
I suppose RiverWest often simply blends into the background for me. I don't want any more of similar type buildings, but when I'm walking along Main and taking in the skyline, the building barely registers.
Re: The Skyline
I was walking around the Mill District, and dammit if I didn't even notice RiverWest anymore. It's been absorbed into the fabric.
