I think we can change this thread to "City Place Woodbury".

Work here is coming along nicely. I'll have to try and take some pictures next time I'm in the area.

If you like the humor of the thread title , you will not be amused by the development they are doing. Was by on Monday and it looks like a farmstead with building all strewn around a farm site. From the exit to Radio Drive it looks like a toddler just threw down some buildings and walked away. Biggest suburban mistake of this decade so far.

When I was out that way last week they were getting started on only a few of the total buildings. I'd say we should wait until at least all buildings are under construction. I swear a little patience goes a long way.

All I have to do is look at Riverdale to the north to see what it will not even be half of. I give Riverdale a 5 for experience. This project the retail is too spread out and the rest of the project will be more than a short walk way for most suburbanites. This project gets a 1 from my perspective.

But everyone loves The Westend in St Louis Park right?

Technically West End doesn't include the retail Costco, Home Depot, Office Max, Pet Smart. But most lump it all in.

West End proper has one surface parking lot by the grocery store. Otherwise the parking is in underground and above ground ramps. There are a few on street spots on West End Blvd, too.

The retail on the other side of Xenia is not west end proper. The West End has a grid to it and no sea of asphalt. Building are very near each other and not scattered around with little thought like CITY DUMP.

Size comparison of West End and City Place? I am sure both are just working with what they have. St. Louis Park and Woodbury are very different suburbs. #noteverywherehastobeurban

Nor developed all at once. West End has been proceeding in phases. The swath next to 100 is still vacant and after a few years sitting barren the original plan for the part of West End next to the highway was dumped, a new developer took over, and a change of plan for more residential and less office.

Suburban sprawlscape aside, it's too bad Woodbury didn't use this opportunity to connect (re-connect?) Hudson Rd to Hudson Rd
