Looks like the Iron Door is back on the table for the former Cause space. Hoping to open in May.

Man, as disappointed as I was that Uptown/LynLake was losing its only music venue to a generic sports bar, with the way things actually played out (Cause not reopening, apparently being broke, etc.) I'm kinda pissed at them for the 6-9 month delay. There is way too much vacancy at LynLake right now. I'm glad LynLake Brewery opened in the old theater when they did, because the vacancies at Cause, Falafel King, Country Bar, Tatters, and Serendipity Road are just too much all at once. Hopefully things start turning around soon and we'll have a reborn LynLake by the end of this summer. Hopefully Iron Door will be the only sports bar of that bunch.

Here's your Iron Door Pub announcement, with some quotes from the owner: http://www.vita.mn/crawl/298488891.html

[I folded the Cause thread into the main Uptown Restaurants & Retail one]

Country Bar to reopen. No word if it will keep the grease on everything. http://m.bizjournals.com/twincities/new ... -dive.html

Excellent news, especially the rehab of the building. So badly needs tuckpointing and a paint job.

With LynLake Brewery rocking the long-vacant theater, Iron Door taking over Cause, some kind of "neighborhood pub" concept for the Serendipity Road space (swear I read that somewhere...maybe dreamt it?), the big vacancies in LynLake will be down to the Falafel King space, the Tatters space (please subdivide into two retailers!), and LIME's commercial space.

^^ I was wondering if that would be in the works, I did notice that there were two addresses on the doors walking by. Has it always been like that or was it a single address when Tatters was there?

Can't find the original post, but there's a small art type store opening soon next to Floyds barbers. I can't remember the name exactly, but it's facing lake in a good spot.

The sign in the window indicated it would be a wine/painting place.

Did Volstead's Emporium ever secretly open? http://www.southwestjournal.com/news/bi ... n-lyn-lake

Sounds like keeping it hush-hush was all part of the plan, so maybe? Anyone heard anything?

I saw a work notice next to the Jersey Mikes space. It might just be them expanding but I'm not sure.

Baja Sol closed a while back in the shopping center next to Uptown Diner. Looks like a new Indian place is moving in.

Meanwhile, some kind of bar is opening in the Serendipity Road space. They had a professional bro DJing and handing out Red Bulls (and high-fives) during Open Streets. If that business isn't taking over the Milio's space too, it would be great to get some kind of quick-serve ethnic restaurant in there.
