Great news - Anything will look better then the plywood they have had there for years. Maybe they will even bring back the 'OZ' nightclub.

For the first time in about 20 years we have windows in the Lowry at 4th and Wabasha. The boarded up windows were quite the eysore for such a prominent corner. Glad to see the ornamental lighting back on the building. Now they need a tenant.

There's a lot of vacant street level retail space on this block. Hopefully it gets filled with something worthwhile. Hopefully it gets filled with something. :|

Some of the ground floor will be for Ramsey County:

"So far, the biggest tenant is Ramsey County. County Attorney John Choi moved some 125 employees to the Lowry Hotel in late July, with 30,000 square feet of offices on the ground level and second floor."

Can we adjust the name of the thread? It hurts. Lowry.

I passed by today, quickly, and I think that Ramsey County is taking up very little of the ground floor space (most offices are probably on the 2nd floor). I only say this because only one window bay, maybe two, had Ramsey County signage visible, and it is on the Wabasha side furthest from the corner, so I think the most prime windows and leasable space are still open for whatever may come next.

I thought they were marketing some of that space for a restaurant on the ground level.

The window assemblies on the at the corner have sliding door components, so I would guess a restaurant would be the target tenant. I walked by this morning and it truly does look far, far better. This corner really has great potential.

From Saturday:The renovation is ongoing. You can see some windows of the Ramsey County Attorney's office to the right of the main doors. The areas to the left of the doors (south) are still being worked on.

Think they'll rebuild the marquees? It looks rather barren without them.
