Anyone been to Jun (former Shag Sushi and former Rojo space)? It got middling reviews so I never checked it out.
My wife and I have been. The food and service was good; although portions were large. We prefer more Tapas size portions. We would go again. It wasn't incredibly busy the weeknight we went.

Last night was Toast Wine Bar's last night. We were there when they let us know they were closing their doors. Website has been updated.
This is such a disappointment for the North Loop. I assume no one knows what might replace this wonderful quaint wine bar.
That's such a bummer. Aside from the good wine / food it was nice to have some activity in that space.

Someone I know is also building out a new dental practice in the North Loop. It'll be called Loop Dental, I believe.

Pretty sure this is going into the open retail bay in 5th Ave Lofts... right across the parking lot entry from the new vet clinic by the looks of it.

I got a letter from the Campbell-Logan Bindery about a month ago, announcing their upcoming move. It was a great shop, with a really nice group of humans working there. With that said, I'm pretty excited to see how the building is restored and transformed.

Humans? As opposed to what, robots? Aliens? Hobbits?

Really excited to see this get going since that corner is really a low point if you're walking along that stretch of Washington...decaying old building and then a parking lot.

Yeah, I noticed walking by that they'd already begun some demolition and prep work on the building. Fingers crossed that this gets completed.
There was an article in F&C that noted that it was the increase in North Loop rental rates that finally made the financing on the renovation possible.

I'm really hoping that we see a resurgence of Washington Ave development of the large surface lots that currently exist. It seems like they'll be the last to go in the neighborhood.

This is great. Is the little brick building connected to this part of the renovation?

I'm trying to pick myself up off the floor. How many years have I walked past 200 Washington wondering what would happen first, renovation or collapse? This is so wonderful!

Anyone want to print that out for the next time people say gentrification is bad for historic preservation at a meeting?
