As an immediate neighbor myself to both TCC & UST, not a big fan.Friends and neighbors: This is an exploration, not a done deal. St. Thomas wants to keep any new D1 athletics facilities in St. Paul. We've hired a consultant to help us find the right location. Highland Bridge is an option. Town & Country could be an option -- but we can't even explore it without first knowing how the membership would feel. We will, of course, be engaging with the neighborhood as well.
I believe they said only land east of Otis. That would leave the clubhouse out.LakeCharles wrote:Could we end up with something like this? That would obviously be a massive improvement for everybody, including St. Thomas.
What if instead we removed access to 94.Didier wrote: February 22nd, 2022, 12:51 pm Not directly part of Town & Country, but there's a ton of room for improvement on Cretin. The road is really cramped now and doesn't even have a sidewalk on the west side.
What'd I'd really like to see, though, is a parkway treatment with a median. For such a major entrance into the city (and also to Longfellow), you really start from an armpit.
Why so much single family (and R2, no less)? Traditional neighborhood zoning should be the default for new plats, assuming no Ford-style site plan.LakeCharles wrote: February 22nd, 2022, 10:58 am Screen Shot 2022-02-22 at 10.01.00 AM.jpg

I noticed that other shops on that block are closing soon too, so perhaps there really is something in the works going on!Bakken2016 wrote: https://www.twincities.com/2022/03/09/l ... the-month/
CVS at Snelling and University will be closing at the end of the month, hopefully this means that corner can be redeveloped!
Can you be more specific? Ons and the turf club are on that block and great local staple businesses.gopherfan wrote: March 10th, 2022, 9:34 amI noticed that other shops on that block are closing soon too, so perhaps there really is something in the works going on!Bakken2016 wrote: https://www.twincities.com/2022/03/09/l ... the-month/
