Target HQ Lighting

Postby Ubermoose » February 18th, 2013, 11:23 am

Did anyone happen to see the trip through the solar system on the top of Target HQ this weekend. My family made me park near Loring park so they could watch the whole show.
I think that whoever is in charge of the lighting on the building must have a lot of fun thinking of themes to put up. The aquarium is interesting as well.

They run the solar system one and the aquarium pretty regularly. I'm happy you enjoyed it but I personally think they're a little tacky.

Funny, I was just riding with my family last night and we were all saying how much we don't like the cheesy solar system. Aquarium was #2. Seriously.

They should have some sort of display playing for when the Twins, Vikings, or Timberwolves are playing a home game

I've seen purple and gold for the Vikings. The night of that terrible playoff game against the 49ers they had purple and gold and IDS was doing purple and white with their lights, I believe. I'd tried to get a picture but it came out as blue and yellow on my phone. Did anyone watch Battlestar Galactica or Caprica? If we get a couple more new buildings like that, we'll end up like Caprica City:

Or we'll end up like a tacky Vegas or Times Square.

This thing had hearts all over it for Valentine's, and the IDS was red. It was kind of weird.

What I do like about the Solar System theme is that there is a Space Station that bears a striking resemblance to the one from 2001 A Space Odyssey. :)
