4Marq - 400 Marquette Ave (313' - 30 Stories)
Re: 4Marq - (313' - 30 Stories)
I think that section of sidewalk is pretty much closed off to foot traffic. Did notice a few concrete edging pieces have been applied to the parking deck section on Marquette.

There was one for a while as the tower went up, but it's been gone for a number of weeks now.Is it odd this project doesn't have a traditional plywood & pipe pedestrian tunnel? Not feeling the safety from those nets.
Re: 4Marq - (313' - 30 Stories)
This is a building where the front door meets the street almost. They would not have been able to have put in those ground floor panels with some walkway on the sidewalk. Hopefully the exterior of the parking ramp will go up fast and they can get the sidewalk back open asap. I do like the ground levels openness to the street and look forward to when this tower is open and that part of the street is alive again. There was one for a while as the tower went up, but it's been gone for a number of weeks now.Is it odd this project doesn't have a traditional plywood & pipe pedestrian tunnel? All of the windows are in and... wow. I think the reflections look amazing.

Also they're really getting into the detail and framework at the ground level.

I'm really liking this building. Noticed today that all but the top floor have most of their windows in.
Re: 4Marq - (313' - 30 Stories)
Noticed that they have put up some black something, not sure if it is polished stone, Black dyed concrete, on the outside corners opposite the Xcel building. They also put up some black slates that I'm taking to be supports for the exterior of the parking garage on 3 sides between the 3rd and 4th level of the parking garage so far.

Thanks?
Re: 4Marq - (313' - 30 Stories)
The black slates are aluminum panels similar to the ones interspersed in the window frames of the concrete siding. I noticed they are using another very dark grey panel color (in addition to the black panels) creating a vertical pattern up the side corners of the building.Noticed that they have put up some black something, not sure if it is polished stone, Black dyed concrete, on the outside corners opposite the Xcel building. Great pic Grant. That white concrete really shows up at night, even without and accent lights shining on it.

Not my picture, I wish. I fully agree though, this building shines currently.

Re: 4Marq - (313' - 30 Stories)
The project manager for 4marq mentioned at the CoW meeting for 333 Hennepin that they were painfully short on 3 bedrooms at 4marq. They had way more people inquiry for a 3 bedroom than 3 bedrooms available. It's how they're justifying the larger amount of 3 bedrooms in 333 Hennepin.
Re: 4Marq - (313' - 30 Stories)
The exterior construction elevators have been dismantled. I hope that they get both of the east corners exteriors finished soon. Looking like one more level of bracing for the parking decks before they start putting up what ever their finishing material is.

In the renderings, that facade goes all the way to the top, around that rooftop balcony/terrace. I keep wondering if that is going to happen....

That's my question too. It's the most distinctive architectural feature of the project and makes it stand out. Hope they didn't decide to "cheapen out" and eliminate it from the design. Hard not to be a little skeptical as we've seen this happen before with quite a few of these apartment projects. In the renderings, that facade goes all the way to the top, around that rooftop balcony/terrace. Wait, I thought there was universal agreement that these images of projects are "just renderings" and everybody understands that things are going to "change"...nothing to see here. That's my question too. Crane is still on the back side so those panels sure can be brought up once they get the roof finished. Those would be some of the last details to go on anyway. So I'm hoping too that the end product will have the covered terraces.
