Love the comment on "Chanhassen's walkable downtown". I suppose there are sidewalks so technically you *could* walk, but I doubt there are many or any doing much walking in Chanhassen. And "downtown"? I guess if you have enough strip malls congregated in a single area around city hall, CNN will give you the downtown moniker. Yikes.

I feel that Stillwater and Anoka are offended by Chanhassen being chosen over them. Haha.

I think I remember some stories of Prince liking the twin cities in general (didn't daytons use one of his quote when it was under construction) and there are a few unexpected celebrates who hang around here, off the top of my head Bill Murray used to show up at saints games and iirc owned a house somewhere in the metro, couple co workers claimed it was on shady oak lake in Minnetonka but I doubt it.

Bachelorette filming here. Looks like we got lots of good promo. I hope people discover we're more than a place where George Floyd was murdered and where it gets to -20. (Both of those things are true of course.)

Looks like this was the thread for state flag discussions, so here we go:

I'm of the opinion every single state flag that uses the same blue background, slaps a seal in the middle regardless what said seal may or may not represent, and plasters it's name on the damn flag, is trash and any excuses to redesign them are welcome.

This issue is now coded as Annoying, but they should still change it. God knows what they'd come up with for a new one, though!

This part has the potential to be extremely funny:
If the commissioners can’t agree? The bill language that was placed in the lengthy state government omnibus bill repeals authorization and recognition for the current flag and seal. So no action would leave the state with nothing for a flag or seal and the commission would end its service by … raising a white flag (figuratively).

I'm a tough customer, and I really like this one too. North Star, Snowflake, done. Easy to imagine this being put on hats, t-shirts, coffee mugs, etc.

I also really appreciate the graphic design of it. I'm not sure that putting a snowflake on the flag so conspicuously is what Meet Minneapolis would recommend, though...
