yeah you wrote that right before i did. didn't see it until i had posted already.

The Prospect Park station is the one being advertised, but both are pretty close. I mention Westgate mostly because there are four major apartment/condo complexes surrounding the station that will be very close geographically but somewhat far in practice.

While the navigation from Westgate is totally convoluted, the journey from Prospect Park is more straightforward but still not exactly pleasant. 4th Street from the LRT station to Malcolm is a worn out stretch that serves mostly as an alley for a bunch of old (and sometimes abandoned) industrial buildings. There's not even a sidewalk.

Wow, I really messed up my post above. What I meant to say was that the Cornerstone development should greatly improve the area.

Walking up the transitway is a much more pleasant experience.

There's a long-term plan to re-do 4th St. The vacant lot northeast of the PP station is slated to be apartments built by Cornerstone.

In the interim a few thousand dollars worth of signage and LED lights would help out immensely for people walking to Surly from the station.

I was at a meeting where Omar presented some of the plans and he said something like "people shouldn't be driving to the brewery if they drink as much as we hope they will" (even 2 drinks in quick succession will put some people over the limit. 3 will do it for most people).

Normal brews or microbrews? There are some SOBs that'll put me over the limit (I'd think, can't say for sure) when it comes to microbrews, especially Surly, whom I consider a top tier brewery.

That's good to know for sure, but I'd bet that there are still other factors at play when it comes to total BAC readings, such as: metabolism, whether the person was hungry or recently ate food, whether the person was athletic or in poor physical condition, or whether the person was talking other drugs or foods that could interact with alcohol (like ephedrine or grapefruit juice).

One factor that I can't tell does anything to the BAC is Tolerance, or the ability to withstand lots of alcohol before becoming officially "drunk".

Is the industrial building just to the west of the site being incorporated somehow? It looks like it's being used by construction folks. It's going to make a neat backdrop for the beir garten.

Also, there is a brief but nice view of this site when heading SB on 280.

Actually it does. There's two types of DWI charges: above the legal limit (.08), and "under the influence". You don't need to be above .08 to be considered " under the influence "

Looking on the webcam I see that the first of the secondary fermenters is being installed today!

On Facebook today, Surly announced that the last day of the Brooklyn Center taproom is Oct. 23. After that they plan to focus on the new one, which they say is nearing completion.
