When this is done, and when Opus finally gets around to building on the other half of their lot, Cancer Survivors Park is actually going to not be a miserable place to be. Having that sense of enclosure and visual interest from the surrounding buildings will make a huge difference. The park will feel far less exposed, it will have constant activity directly across the mall, and it will be the nearest green space for several hundred more households.

I noticed the moon was off in the distance of my view of RBC Gateway this morning so I snapped a photo!

I'm trying to imagine the lobby full of people post COVID. This project is going to bring so many people to this end of Nicollet. Hopefully, it knits the Downtown core to the river.

Hotel opens may 2022. I really do think this will help connect the downtown core with the river front as well as the northloop

Getting it back on topic here is a shot from this past weekend of the progress.
As for how to improve this area moving forward I really we need to push for the parking ramp next to the churchill to be taken down as well. Its a block away from the river.
The area as a whole has just been very disconnect from itself for so long but between this and a handful of other projects its improving.

Helps explain why RBC wanted their logo on the 3rd St facade so badly. It would likely be visible in that shot (and from many other angles inside the ballpark). United/Pohlads know what they're doing.
