I was trying to find other good development tracker websites/forums in other cities and was wondering if anybody knew of any. The best I found was the skyscraperpage.com for multiple cities but none that have forums specifically for individual projects in specific cities like UrbanMSP does.

If anybody knows of any, I would love to know! Thanks!

City Data is awful but Skyscrapercity isn't bad, although it's most interesting areas have nothing to do with urbanism. Skyscraperpage is better than either.

I find that discussions here are sometimes a bit insular in their perspective (for example a lot of the architecture that is considered mediocre or cookie cutter here is way better than what is being built in other cities). SSP is a good antidote for that.

It looks like they have a lot of the 6-story stuff there too. Except since it's LA they're all on steroids with multiple floors of underground parking and 200+ units each.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. After taking a quick glance at many of these, I am even more appreciative of UrbanMSP and the way it engages people and sparks (usually good) conversation, instead of just listing projects around the TC region like some of these sites do.

Surprised nobody mentioned Greater Greater Washington yet, which goes even further into advocacy and hard questions than UrbanMSP does...

I was going to mention it, among other sites like UrbanCincy, Curbed, etc.

But none of those sites are like UrbanMSP...they're more like Streets.MN

We are a unique crossroads of
1. Development Tracking
2. Transportation/Urbanism Discussion

None of the sites mentioned track each and every development as we do, in a pure forum style discussion without any blog/written/advocacy component. We're a bit old-fashioned in that sense, being forum-only.

On that note, then yes, GGW is more like streets.mn. Though I've heard rumors of a possilbe merge between UrbanMSP and streets.mn.

Skyscraperpage and Skyscrapercity have already been mentioned. There used to be one for Denver that's different than what Woofner posted previously, but the name escapes me (I knew of it about 10 years ago).

After talking a look at SSC I have come to this conclusion:

Both websites are really good.

It's neat how SSC has more pictures, and how its a stream of development consciousness. I will say I do appreciate the curated nature of this site.
