Nic on Fifth - (290' - 26 Stories)
Re: Nic on Fifth - (455 Nicollet Mall)
Its probably a floor or two taller...Updates?
Re: Nic on Fifth - (455 Nicollet Mall)
I walked by this one yesterday. It's up to 11 floors total now. So they're keeping up the floor per week pace, at least.

A lil' piece of precast facade was on the Nicollet Mall side of this as of this afternoon. It's very beige.

So this thing is at 11 floors, and I'm assuming Stone Bridge is not, yet they started around the same time?

Almost half way there in terms of height, considering that the first floor is about twice as tall as the average floor.
Re: Nic on Fifth - (455 Nicollet Mall)
even if it stopped right there it would still be the tallest thing built in how long? The Ivy?

Looks like they're starting to hang some cladding.

Awesomeness! I am so excited about my trip back in a couple of weeks. Plan to take lots of pics of all the new buildings going up. Mpls. is going to look so different in 2-10 year, give or take.

Thanks for the pic, spearson. I *really* wish Opus would turn the webcam back on. I enjoyed checking that out every day.
The problem with being an introvert online is that no one knows you're just hanging out and listening.

Re: Nic on Fifth - (455 Nicollet Mall)
I suppose no news on the retail/restaurant tenants. Would be cool with the retail space was two-leveled - like Zara, etc. in Chicago and other stores along MI Avenue.

From Tuesday. Any idea on how long Nicollet Mall will be closed in front of this?

This is going to make such a difference in the first impressions of a lot of people riding the light rail into downtown. I remember using the Nicollet Mall station last year to get to the airport and noticing that the signature stop on the Hiawatha Line was next to an empty surface parking lot. Not the best way to demonstrate an exciting, urban environment. At least now it'll feel like you're actually in the city.

We've now entered Week 2 of Opus' Reign of Terror: Nicollet Mall Street Closure/Bus Detour.

Yeah, over the weekend it was closed in two different sections, and yet buses werent routed only to Hennepin. They still twisted and turned to get back to Nicollet with a second detour via Marquette or LaSalle farther south.

So strange that the other side of the podium hasn't been started.
