I agree, this area is my neighborhood, and I am not really against this. The area just needs major infrastructure improvements if this happens though as there are no sidewalks in the area and streets that take 90 degree turns. Additionally, this is supposed to include a large outdoor training area for Police and dogs. I am not sure if you have ever heard police dog training, but it is very loud. I don't know how they solve that issue but presenting a plan is better than ramming it through.

I am not sure how held up this will get in the council though because the ward 11 council member Jamison Whiting worked on the police reform before becoming a council member. He seemed to be pretty in support of the building.

The center includes space for BCR and Neighborhood Safety which are alternatives to MPD. Consolidating all these departments in a space which need to work together seems to further the goal to diversify our 1st responders responses. Additionally, it appears this was a recommendation of a Human Rights Settlement agreement? This will help us more our city and 1st responders forward from the horrors of 2020.

Frey proposes taking money out of traffic calming street reconstruction to pay for it though, so even if it isn’t the evil police fortress the opponents are painting it as, building it will have real impacts on programs making tangible and visible improvements to the city.

The city also does not currently have any guarantee that a bonding bill including their almost $20 million funding ask will pass this legislative session. Without that money the city will have an expensive lot on their hands for likely a couple more years at the expense of traffic calming and ADA ramps citywide.

Whatever it takes to stop these terrible speed bumps from getting rolled out to every block where somebody complains.

So how many shippers will there be on Progressive Rail north of the 494 bridge we're rebuilding now?

there will be just 1 the aggregate industries concrete plant and honestly besides that there is not even space for any other new industrial buildings to start using them.

Yeah. Not intending to restart the conversation on the merits of rebuilding the 494 bridge but just curious of how long the rail line will be around. Recently the CP started railroading in the wee hours of the morning, pissing off neighbors around the crosssing by the ski hill, so they city discussed pulling funding for a traffic study on 102nd street around the schools so they could do a citywide quiet zone study instead. Despite that I'd assume the city government likes the railroads around because they service all of the city's protected industrial areas.

Anyone know what is going on at the old Sunstreet spot? It's been painted and there's a dumpster out front.

I'm not sure. It does look like they're repainting the whole strip mall, so maybe nothing specific with that spot?
