From the development tracker:

"Preliminary designs for future development also show that the United Crusher’s grain elevators could also remain."

That would be pretty cool!

Construction has started on the Malcolm Yards apartments. It was kinda cold, so I didn't grab a photo, but will do so soon.

The City Council is again considering historic designation for the Glendale housing project.

Another great opportunity for the council to demonstrate that they're all about the feels, rather than good governance.

City staff have twice recommended against the historic designation, finding Glendale’s character-defining historic features had been altered long ago. The Minnesota State Historic Preservation Office also said in 2020, “None of the buildings resemble their historic appearance.”
Doesn't every one of these crusades end this way? Someone gets upset that an old thing might be turned into a new thing, and it's revealed that it was turned into a new thing slowly over the decades anyway and isn't, in fact, historically remarkable in any way?

In this case, the underlying issue had more to do with a second, unrelated issue than the historical preservation aspect.
