Looks like they are adding a second story to the office portion of the Nicollet bus garage, over the entrance facing 31st Street. Does anyone know what is going on? I couldn't find info on Metro Transit's website.

This from the mouth of a driver that works out of the Nicollet garage. They are doubling the office and support space. At the moment they are working out of trailers in the garage as part of the remodel and addition is under way. So they are increasing office space and support space for the drivers.

Hopefully they plaster some more fake houses over the addition! #shamitecture

As someone else alluded to in probably the Kmart thread, I really wish there were a way to rebuild this facility underground, either on its current site or beneath the Kmart superblock. That, and find a way to combine it with the nearby Police precinct building, to at least have a shared parking facility. There's too much non-taxpaying land in this immediate area.
