What's up with the display size for emojis? They appear comically huge, at least on a PC.

Re: Forum Maintenance & Technical Issues
If an admin could add this somewhere in the CSS file, it would make them roughly the same height as the PHPBB smilies.
Code: Select all
img.emoji {
height: 1.1em;
}
The problem with being an introvert online is that no one knows you're just hanging out and listening.

Re: Forum Maintenance & Technical Issues
FYI -- our SSL certificate expired, so folks yesterday may have gotten a "site not secure" error. To be clear, this is simply because our 1-year certificate was up. There was no loss of encryption nor any hack or loss of data — browsers are just required to warn you if the certificate / license is expired. Anyway, new certificate is up and all should be good for another year.
(To people who know more about SSL — we have an old host that does this manually each year, they don't have any self-renewing option)

Nick pays the bill, I just do the maintenance work when needed. I'll let him post about how people can pitch in $$

Re: Forum Maintenance & Technical Issues
Getting a lot of 'Server Hangup' error messages when using the forum. Frequently, like on maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of all page clicks, whether just browsing or submitting a post.
Anyone else seeing that, or is the issue on my end?

Re: Forum Maintenance & Technical Issues
A few days ago the forum started showing up on my computer with what appears to be the mobile version of the site. Did this happen to anyone else? Anyone know how to turn it back?

For real, am I the only one for whom the whole look of the board changed? All of the buttons are super small and everything is harder to navigate, but I can't find an option to change the appearance.

Are you zoomed in or out? Do you get the same issue in a different browser?Didier wrote: November 16th, 2021, 10:59 pm For real, am I the only one for whom the whole look of the board changed? And we're back to normal. No idea why, but must have been to do with my browser. It wasn't the zoom in/out issue, though. I had tried that. Thanks for the tips!

Re: Forum Maintenance & Technical Issues
Also -- I still provide some tech support but am not all that active on here these days. If you see issues on here that look like they need some tech help, please send a heads up to [email protected]. Case in point: I didn't see that request from 2022 until someone emailed me.
I just set up Cloudflare proxy, which should hopefully take some strain off the basic shared hosting this is on. But also possible things could be off as a result! Email me there if something's wrong

Re: Forum Maintenance & Technical Issues
I'm getting a lot of emails, even though I have email notifications turned off after the upgrade.
