Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
To the left of the main doors on the west side of the stadium there's a deck that overlooks the plaza. On the deck there are a couple dozen of what look like posts about 3 ft tall. Is this by any chance an outdoor area for smoking and those ashtrays?

They look like lights to me.
Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
I decided to go on one of my explorations of downtown east. Went i into the Wells Fargo Tower and up to the skyway.
There was a piece of yellow caution tape right before these windows. Decided to duck under it and get a picture looking into the future US Bank Stadium skyway connection.

I wonder if they maybe those things that are near target field. Sometimes I walk by them and they are playing music.

Did they change the blue in the signs to be darker for the new signs? Or are the old ones THAT faded by the sun and lights?
Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
I think the old ones are that faded. It's probably time for a systemwide update.

You'd think we'd have LED signage, or at least LCD TVs mounted as signage.
If you want to see REALLY old Skyway(tm)(yay) signage, check out some of the Macy's entrances. Or I think the TCF Building had some old signs.

This will probably be one of the only times my family and I see the inside of this place in person:

Might try to see the Champions Cup game in August though.

The soccer tickets are pretty pricey, but not as much as Metallica. Somehow resale tickets to Metallica start around $150, which is nuts for such a big venue and over-the-hill band.
Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
It seems that the design of this thing is a bit flawed. They had to bring back the Abilene High Lift to clean the windows. That's going to be a significant reoccurring expense.

Geezer rock is big money these days. People easing into their golden years with little to do with their disposable income and lots of pent-up nostalgia. I wouldn't pay $15 to see Metallica. The soccer tickets are pretty pricey, but not as much as Metallica. Are there many other skyways this long? IMO, the thing is just plain fugly.
And my understanding is that it will only be for "VIP" access to the stadium, whatever that means. I'm guessing it means whoever gets a game-day parking pass at the parking ramp.

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
The one between the Wells Fargo underground tech center thingie and the Gateway Ramp is pretty long, spanning the whole block between 3rd and 4th Avenues and both streets. But it's now partially hidden behind Latitude 45. The one between the A and B ramps is a full block too.Are there many other skyways this long? IMO, the thing is just plain fugly.
Not sure if the new one is longer.
It probably has to be or it could wind up with major capacity issues with a bottleneck inside the ramp. And my understanding is that it will only be for "VIP" access to the stadium, whatever that means. I'm guessing it means whoever gets a game-day parking pass at the parking ramp.
Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
This was my initial understanding as well, but at this point, the plans I've seen aren't very clear as to how they'd control access (way back at the parking ramp?), and while it does feed directly into the VIP areas, there does appear to be a route to access the proletariat sections as well. And my understanding is that it will only be for "VIP" access to the stadium, whatever that means. This will be especially expensive during migratory bird season. It seems that the design of this thing is a bit flawed. They had to bring back the Abilene High Lift to clean the windows. That's going to be a significant reoccurring expense.

All the -1's!
Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
Really? I quite like the transformation.
The only thing I really don't like is the visual exhaustion that the new ped bridge, the station, the arches, and all the other stuff over there are now. It's just such a jumble.

The sub auto-changes + 1 to -1, because the mods are idiots. So he's not actually disliking this (I don't think anyway).Really? I quite like the transformation.

What's funny is Tapatalk ignores the substitutions. I'm seeing it with the exact + I used. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
