A five story, thirty-six unit, zero resident parking, building has been proposed for 1626 E Lake Street—across the street from Panaderia San Miguel, across the street and down the block from Ingebretsen's, and a half mile from the East Lake Station. Given the write-up and the location, I'd imagine these apartments will be fairly reasonably priced for new market rate construction. This new mixed-use building is proposed for construction as a response to a need for housing for live-work residents along the east & west Lake Street corridor. One goal of the project is to create a sense of community by providing small, neighborhood related service-oriented offices, as well as 36 one- and two bedroom apartments.
