Habitable Living

So I live in a duplex home that has a downstairs and then two bedrooms upstairs. We have a window ac unit downstairs and one in one of the upstairs bedrooms. My room however does not have one and it gets so hot in there that I have had to sleep on the couch in the living room for the past few weeks because every time I try to sleep in my room I get heat stroke (100 degree fever, and throwing up). I know that landlords aren’t required to provide ac but if I’m getting sick due to not having one, is that considered a violation to the right of habitable living? Can I ask my landlord to provide a third window unit or is it up to me to provide one myself?
