The Elysian - (711 4th Street Southeast)
The Elysian - (711 4th Street Southeast)
Just saw this in an ad on the Daily's website: http://www.elysianapts.com/
I think this is what had been referred to as the Andrew Riverside redevelopment in CPC meetings? Looks like it's going in that open lot on 4th Street west of I-35W.

Simple, Collegiate, Easy to Execute well, but probably NOT TALL ENOUGH for a few.
Re: The Elysian - (711 4th Street Southeast)
Looks very similar to "The Flux" apartments in Uptown, but in a good way. I like the predominance of brick on the exterior, the inset balconies, and lighting on the upper floor. Looks solid and will age well.

I am intrigued by their choice of typeface for advertising. Will there be a mythological theme in the wallpapers or something? If anything, stencil the odd name in gold on the glass transom over the front door 1920s style. The Elysian what?

Awesome! I really like that this open spot will be filled. I think good things are in store for Marcy-Holmes in the next decade.Just saw this in an ad on the Daily's website: http://www.elysianapts.com/

Looks like they are getting ready to break ground on this. The site has a trailer there (as of 10/3/12), and yellow caution tape around the perimeter. Any idea how many units? Looks like this place. It says mixed use, but it doesn't seem to have anything other than residential in these plans.
Re: The Elysian - (711 4th Street Southeast)
This MN Daily article says that the lower level will be a church -- the same congregation that used to meet at the old church on this site.
Re: The Elysian - (711 4th Street Southeast)
That's a really cool story.

Site is fenced off and cleared, but not leveled yet.

It's almost all cleared now - except for the huge pile of dirt in the middle. Is the church the only ground level retail?
Re: The Elysian - (711 4th Street Southeast)
This site is a very big hole now. There was a lot of excavation work going on today. Sorry for no pictures, but it is after just a hole in the ground....

CPM put signs for this project in the yards of a bunch of single-family houses they own around campus. Kinda makes it looks like it's going up all over the place.

Yeah, I had noticed that -- seems to fly in the face of the ban on off-premises advertising, no?CPM put signs for this project in the yards of a bunch of single-family houses they own around campus. Kinda makes it looks like it's going up all over the place.
Re: The Elysian - (711 4th Street Southeast)
Why are the not wrapping this like they do with all other projects?
Re: The Elysian - (711 4th Street Southeast)
I think what you're referring to is the dark green colored gypsum sheathing that most apartment buildings are being built with (as opposed to the yellow board -- same stuff, different brand). This building looks like it's clad with OSB instead; not sure why.
In any case, both the gypsum board and OSB sheathed buildings will receive a building wrap.
