Re: Trader Joes (Lyndale and 27th)
So what was the verdict. Never will there be a TJ's at 27th and Lyndale, or the Developer now will have to go back to the drawing board and come up with a better design that contains upper levels for office or apartments, and primarily underground parking which it should be.

Re: Lake & Nicollet
The only main problem I see with the Sherman project that I saw many years ago is the shadows that it would cause on the Greenway. That seems to be a deal killer right off the bat. But I did like their parking proposal and I sure want some housing included in the redevelopment. There needs to be mor...

Re: Lake & Nicollet
My opinion is that Kmart would benefit from a new store that could be better prepared for an urban enviorment. This store is all 70's suburban. Building a new store would provide a more effiecent layout and much more effiecent lighting, HVAC, and upgraded technology. With the rework of 35W and Lake ...

Re: Xcel Energy HQ
THere was talk of doing that, but there is little need for 2 block of parks that will rarely get used by anyone. That area will never be a residential area. Only a few lunch time workers will use it if it is a park. I'm still scepticle that the block north of the Library will really ever be turned i...

Re: Trader Joes (Lyndale and 27th)
My impression is that Trader Joes will not build south of 94 on Nicolett [sic]. There already is a liquior store with in 2 block and a chrch with in one block, so no liquor store if they did. Also, The neighborhood would better support an Aldi's, but yes they have 2 stores already in MPLS at Frankli...

Re: Trader Joes (Lyndale and 27th)
Too close to the church and I believe there is the liquor store at Nicolett [sic] and Franklin that would be too close, for the liqurs store portion.

Would have to be in that no mans land east of Chicago off Washington. Only place that might have the parking requirements and close to the Light rail staion,

Re: Nicollet Mall
I think they could re-do the facade of just the 4 story retail portion and leave the tower alone. Its my least favorite tall building downtown, but the street level at the base of the tower is not as bad as the street level of the retail portion. Of course I would love it they did something with th...

Re: Trader Joes (Lyndale and 27th)
I'd be for some thing above Trader Joe's, but I know that having a TJ 2 blocks away from me will me one less trip into the burbs for some of my favorites. I think having a light at 27th will do alot of good if the county and city can get the act together and with Traffic light timing and add a turn ...

Re: 1001 Nicollet - New Target Building
call me crazy but I think Target Plaza is tall enough! I do like the top part of target plaza but could you imagine if the IDS building had something like that ( you thought the migrating birds were confused not  ) I know most people just want to see tall buildings added but the look of the sk...

Re: 1001 Nicollet - New Target Building
I can live with that, As long as they make that corner section look not like it belongs in a slum I can live with without the tower for awhile. You get on the bad side of your businesses and they will have a long memory for when they next decide to invest in your tower. If I remember right, it was L...

Re: Pioneer Endicott Building
Walk thru the building twice today. There is some yellow tape up to restict access, but the atrium is=way so dark, but theis was when the rain was really heavy and the clouds dark. I hate thier beige paint. I really hope the do an above average reuse of this gem!!

Re: Uptown Theatre
Was across the street from the Uptown today. Looks like they have finished tuck pointing the exterior of the building. It also look like that cleaned the exterior of the Kasota stone facade. Was not able to peak inside to see how they are coming along on the inside of the building!

Walked by Mozaic Today. They were running their water Feature. They have also added metal sculptures to the top of the 2 huge granite columns. The plaza is getting close to being finished, except for the area in front of the new restraunt. The Greenwall on the East wall is now growing up. By mid Jul...
