Re: Star Tribune Blocks

Hopefully this bodes well for the Ryan deal going through. http://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/blog/real_estate/2013/03/star-tribune-searching-for-new-office.html Is it just me or is the map on this link incorrect? Seems to me that they have the streets labeled wrong. 3rd should be 4th, 4th s/b 5...

Re: 815 14th Ave SE

^^^That's kind of what I was thinking, cbus. This can't be a top dollar site. I noticed an architect on the document attached in this thread, but do we know much about the developer behind this? Perhaps it is a smaller company than we are used to (that's good, right? Means that the market is "t...

Re: 815 14th Ave SE

Initially, I was going to object to the idea that there is "nothing useful" here already, since I thought the site in question was across the street-- and we were looking at displacing an auto-body shop and wilderness inquiry to build it. As an aside, 14th Ave seems like an odd address for...

Re: The Walkway (1312 West Lake Street)

I don't think people are opposed to Cheapo being there, they're opposed to Cheapo being there in that building. CPM is keeping Sally's in their new development in Stadium Village, maybe something similar could happen here in the future.
But it wouldn't be the SAAAAME!!! WAAAAH!

Re: The Walkway (1312 West Lake Street)

Cheapo and Ragstock remind me of my teenage years. Maybe it's for purely selfish, nostalgic reasons, but if it were up to me, they'd both stay right where they are, forever and ever.

Re: 600 Fifth Street - (600 Fifth Street North)

So, to be clear: when we say this will be L-shaped, wrapped around Fulton, does that mean...

a.) one corner of the L will be against 6th Avenue and the overpass, or...
b.) One corner of the L will be against 6th Avenue and 5th Street?

Sorry if this has been covered already.

Re: 600 Fifth Street - (600 Fifth Street North)

They have started demolition on this site.

Thread title should be changed to "The Natural" I guess. Sigh.
It's an homage to the baseball stadium.

Just be glad they're not doing an homage to HERC

Re: 700 Washington & Third Apartments/Hotel

^^^I guess I'm unclear on the same thing, but I certainly hope they keep that building... The parking lot + "vacant building" (which I'm assuming is that 1 story affair at 3rd and Chicago?) is a nicely sized space....big enough to support the scale of this project, but not so big that they...

Re: 400 Marquette Avenue

It's not really a small footprint for a residential building. I bet you could fit the Carlyle here (the portion above the pedestal). Sure, there won't be space for the typical pedestal, but that's not all bad. I suspect they wouldn't have a proposal together if it were un-doable, or exorbitantly ex...

"400 Marquette" would be the perfect name for this apartment building. No need to try to be clever ;)

Re: Plymouth Building apartments

These two-- Plymouth and the 15-- are among my two favorite in Downtown.

I agree that it would be nice to see something done with that parking lot, but it's rather small square footage. Any thoughts on what we'd (hypothetically) want to see there? Restaurant?

Re: 301 Walnut (Sally's Building)

^^^Sally's does enforce their dress code unequally, hence my beef with it. I've seen white frat boys let in in baggy shorts, backwards hats, and "wife beaters" literally right before African-American patrons were denied entry because they were wearing the same things. And as far as Library...
