Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, the food is very blah, not spectacular.
That is a theme restaurant for you.
That is the best they could come up with.

They're capitalizing on a recent surge in brand awareness.

I think it's silly to build a 2nd office building and a 4th Hotel across from JW Marriott. Not a very good view from the Marriott.
The luxury hotel is a good idea. I think it's cool that you can live on the upper level.

Theres already a bridge from MOA over Lindau Lane into the parking lot east of Ikea. There are stop sign a few places on Ikea Way. No matter if it is winter or not, Ikea is not going to shell out a few million for a block + long skyway.
Re: Mall of America - Bloomington
Why would they add this throwback trashy restaurant to the MOA. It wont last long.Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville opening restaurant at Mall of America

Joining the 3rd floor's east restaurant row, near the relocated Rainforest Cafe and the new Crayola Experience.
And i want to know why this wouldnt go upstairs by Cantina, Dicks, Hooters & comedy. If they want to have a successful adult entertainment block they better get to work quick. I would like to see Sky Deck become officially D&B or maybe brunswick. Something bigger n better. Its so deserted up stairs.
Re: Mall of America - Bloomington
It's a touristy restaurant for a touristy destination. I can see why they did it, even if I personally have no interest in it.
It makes more sense than a restaurant based around Forrest Gump, anyway, yet somehow that place endures.

And yet the restaurant based around breasts went out of business!
Re: Mall of America - Bloomington
Hooters? That was still open earlier this month when I walked by it on the way to the theater.

Oops. Thought they all closed.

People think Bubba Gump is based on Forest gump when they are not related at all. Just fyiIt's a touristy restaurant for a touristy destination. I can see why they did it, even if I personally have no interest in it.

Its just that no one cares about boobs anymore...Hooters is still alive and doing well on the 4th floor. Don't fret. And yet the restaurant based around breasts went out of business!
Re: Mall of America - Bloomington
I'm not generally one to argue... but! I think that the menu disagrees with that statement. There are quite a few references in it. For instance, "Lt. Dan’s Drunken Shrimp".People think Bubba Gump is based on Forest gump when they are not related at all. Just fyiIt's a touristy restaurant for a touristy destination. Re: Mall of America - Bloomington
The more you know. The hole menu references movie characters. 'Dumb Luck', 'Forrest's seafood feast', Jenny's catch... etc.
Q. What, what? A. In da butt.
Re: Mall of America - Bloomington
You also have a sign at each table that says "Run Forest Run" or "Stop Forest Stop" So the waiter/waitress knows if you need help. And they always ahve teh movie on one of the TV's.
Re: Mall of America - Bloomington
I've been to Bubba Gump's in Florida. It's actually a pricier restaurant, and there's definitely a tie to Forest Gump, whether the restaurant is officially licensed to do so or not. In addition to the menu items, the waiters walk around and quiz you on the movie. It's really the kind of place I could see mattaudio enjoying taking his family for a nice Sunday dinner.

Probably just a coincidence. You also have a sign at each table that says "Run Forest Run" or "Stop Forest Stop" So the waiter/waitress knows if you need help. And they always ahve teh movie on one of the TV's.

If the restaurant is aimed at Forrest Gump fans, naming something 'Jenny's Catch' seems ill advised. The more you know. The hole menu references movie characters. 'Dumb Luck', 'Forrest's seafood feast', Jenny's catch... etc.

Guys I like arguing about facts as much as the next guy (no, that's a lie, I hate it, it's one of the most despicable behaviors of human conversation) but we can very all this. Because facts!

Did you guys know that actor Chris Pratt was discovered in 2000 while working as a waiter at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. in Maui, Hawaii? He waited on the table of actor/director Rae Dawn Chong, who had starred in one of Pratt's favorite films, Commando. Chong offered Pratt a role in a short movie she was directing at the time.
