The same reason the media kept using the old rendering for The Commons -- to spite Nick and Archiaopolis.

HPC meeting is December 15 at 4:30 PM in Room 317, City Hall. This meeting will determine appropriateness to demolish and to build a tower.

The trees hide the parking podium nicely!

Great work m b p. Someday I imagine many more towers on that side of the river.
Re: Alatus St. Anthony Tower (Washburn-McReavy Site)
I'd say the only real spots left besides those that are already purposed would be on the General Mills parking lot (1-2 towers), where the Wells Fargo Bank parking lot is now, and possibly the Union Trust plot that was proposed and abandon a few years back. Don't see much other undeveloped space that a tower would fit. With it being Old St. Anthony, I don't see any of the older buildings being torn down to make room for any towers.Great work m b p. I think it's known that General Mills is planning on leaving that whole complex/parking lot with the next several years. It will be interesting to see what that gets developed into...

I hope it's split up into at least four parcels. Or maybe a Texas Doughnut. We have trouble getting quality on full-block developments even Downtown, so I'm even more concerned about full blocks lesser neighborhoods.

This might be a really novice question, but what is a Texas Donut?
