Re: TCF Bank Building Redevelopment
I routinely check the internets every couple of days for an update on this project, and have so far found nothing, so yes, count me in the group that is expecting something this month.

Re: TCF Bank Building Redevelopment
They've started stripping the offices down. Looks like everyone has moved out. Feels kind of weird to have it empty.

Yeah, I don't know whats exactly been going on with this project, anyone?
Over the last few weeks they have been stripping the place, at one point they had dumpsters out on Marquette. Not sure if they are still there or not though. The heat has also been off for quite some time in that part of the skyway.

No one is in the building anymore from what I can tell. Signs say that the branch is closed and advises people go to IDS.
Hopefully we see something with the Q4 press release.

Re: TCF Bank Building Redevelopment
Yeah, for sure no one in the building. I believe they moved out in December. In another thread I had mentioned how they covered up the TCF stained glass/rock art thing in the skyway area with a super ugly Skyway Map. Well, that backlit skyway map is gone and so is the old original TCF stained glass piece. It's just a cut out shell now.No one is in the building anymore from what I can tell. Re: TCF Bank Building Redevelopment
Clock stopped blinking TCF in January. The lease ran out Dec. 31. And the building's name appears to have changed to the street address: 121 South 8th Street

Nice catch on the sign, didn't notice that.Clock stopped blinking TCF in January. The lease ran out Dec. 31. And the building's name appears to have changed to the street address: 121 South 8th Street

121 South 8th Street is actually the address of the TCF Tower, which also looks to have been renamed to the street address. Similarly, the TCF Bank Building is referred to as its street address, 801 Marquette.

They expect to finalize cost with each partner, hotel and apartments, within the month. Office portion will be paid and controlled by FSP. They anticipate the office portion alone costing $90-$110 M. Pre-leasing has begun on the office portion as well.

Time for everyone to find a therapist and get a month or two with of anti anxiety meds so that they can make it thru until the big reveal!
For some that was a joke, for a few , not so much. You will survive until March or April.

Until the big reveal? I worry what'll happen to half the forum posters after the reveal if it doesn't live up to expectationsTime for everyone to find a therapist and get a month or two with of anti anxiety meds so that they can make it thru until the big reveal!

Why wait? Let's be pre-emptively disappointed!
It's better than a surface lot, amiright?
Re: TCF Bank Building Redevelopment
It's being financed through taxpayer subsidies, has a 22 level parking podium, no ground level retail, eight skyway connections and the primary tenant is Koch Industries. #callingit #betterthansurfaceparkingWhy wait? Let's be pre-emptively disappointed!

"It's not going to be ultra modern, something that people look at and say we’re trying to make a modern artistic statement," a local executive said.
Re: TCF Bank Building Redevelopment
Nice appetizer there Grant, will see how long people choke on that statement here and elsewhere.
Re: TCF Bank Building Redevelopment
It's 50 floors, breaks the 500 ft barrier we've had for so long, and has spec office space that will bring more jobs downtown. That's a big vote of confidence IMO. Right now I couldn't give a Sh*t what it looks like. I just hope it gets built.
Re: TCF Bank Building Redevelopment
I really do care how it looks like, think about it. It's between Minneapolis' two most i*c*o*n*i*c towers, whatever it turns out to be. I hope it makes a good statement on the cities architecture.
Meet me in Wells
Re: TCF Bank Building Redevelopment
That makes it sound like it'll compliment the Foshay well. Perhaps a big brother...
