Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
I've been lurking and reading for a long time now, but I felt compelled to share my recent, yet unprofound, realization:
$1 billion is equal to $1,000 million.
I know this doesn't apply to only the new stadium, but damn, that's a lot of money!

Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
Well, that all depends on who you are talking to. Much of the world defines billion as one million million (10^12 vs. our 10^9).$1 billion is equal to $1,000 million.

So that makes this stadium something of a bargain compared to a Frenchman's billion dollar (or euro) stadium.

Hell, what's stopping us from a $1t stadium... besides math.
Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
They were working on this all night last night I think. I saw diggers and trucks moving around at 3:30 AM when I drove by. Interesting..
Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
I live across the street. Every night from 6:00 pm - 6:00 am they are hauling dirt. At any given time there is usually a lineup of 10 trucks waiting to be filled. They are constantly moving dirt off the site.
Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
isn't it illegal to work between like 10:30 and 7 am?

Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
They're not looking to draw a crowd for the deflation, so we probably won't be getting an exact time:

Shame. I'd really like to go out and watch/ film it. I don't really think the safety concern is legitimate, given that there are plenty of nearby lots that could be designated for viewing.

Webcam just went back up in a new location (seems to be an upper floor of US Bank Plaza) with a view that will be great for watching deflation. If they keep it here, the view will also be great for watching the Ryan project go up.

Thanks for the update! However, what one doesn't know is how the 2-4" of snow we're forecast to get overnight might impact that timing - since one would imagine they'll need to melt the snow before deflating it. My guess is that they'll either turn up the heat tonight (in preparation) and/or the deflation will be delayed to allow for the snow melt.Jacob Frey posted 8:30 on his facebook.

I wonder what's going to happen to the horse once the roof is taken down.

It's unfortunate that complete waste of time lawsuit filed by an attention seeker was dismissed?

If anyone thinks there's an UrbanMSP groupthink you only have to read this thread to see how wrong that idea is.
