Re: Lockheed Martin site - Eagan
... I'm looking forward to this development because it will bring more food options to within walking distance. What is your planned walking route? Please share. I work for Delta (the office building directly adjacent to eagan central park), and walk across the park and around the lockheed martin s...

Re: Lockheed Martin site - Eagan
I can't believe that driving all over the lot to find a place to park is that much easier than driving into a ramp, like you can at West End. Again from an Eagan tax payer's point of view, they will have to pick up the lost tax revenue down the road. Their properties will have to pick up the lost r...

Re: Lockheed Martin site - Eagan
I can see this site from the office where I work, and walk around here all the time when grabbing lunch. Yeah, there's parking, but its not anywhere near as big of a deal as all of you are making it out to be. Ultimately this is a suburb, and 95% of people drive to go where they need to go. This one...

And their old stadium was converted into housing.Arsenal's stadium in London is closely surrounded by new housing. Some of the advertisements for new construction was aimed at fans.

Re: Rumors!
True, but we each have the choice of whether to re-post them. If you respect the wishes of texas_re, then why make it easier for others to find the photos?Even if they came down they'd still be around and it's no one on this websites fault so there is no use blaming.

It's not your job; stop acting so self-important. If the people behind these pictures wanted them taken down, they could send a DMCA order. She did, actually, but you know how difficult it can be to get something off the internet once it's gotten out there. I think the point is just that we can eit...

It was reported on the radio this morning that a northstar train struck and killed a pedestrian that was walking "near" (on?) the tracks.

Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
That was pretty clearly satire. I don't think it's necessary to spell out that fact. Granted, occasionally someone who isn't familiar with The Onion will take one of their stories seriously, but that doesn't mean that they should have a big "Warning! This site is satire!" on the top of tha...

Re: Riverview Corridor
I like the idea of using 5th, but I wonder if there's enough room for switches when the curve needs to start almost immediately when leaving central station. Also, there would almost certainly be a requirement for noise mitigation near the Ordway. Not that it would be a deal breaker. Just a rehash o...

Re: Riverview Corridor
Unless they mess with that awful Alliance Bank ramp, or do a larger radius turn as part of a Macy's block redo, I can't imagine they could do a 90 degree turn from Cedar to 6th. The 90 degree turn at 12th & cedar appears to be a 90ft radius. It appears that this would be possible at 6th if the ...

Re: Riverview Corridor
Here's my idea, presuming full W7th alignment. It uses 6th street in order to avoid issues with the Ordway/MPR, and would require a new or modified hwy 5 bridge with an upper deck. Two options for crossing 55/62.

Re: University Avenue Traffic Lane Modification Study
I'm pretty sure that Elon has commented that he dislikes the concept of flying cars, so I would take that bet. Plus his long term goal is Mars colonization, so even if his view changed he'll probably leave flying cars to someone else.Flying cars will be made by Tesla I'll put money on it

Re: Riverview Corridor
I think it's a real possibility, especially since it's apparently a goal to redo the 5/Shepard road interchange in order to direct traffic onto Shepard road rather than down 5/7th.

Re: Northstar Commuter Rail
Anyone hear of any ridership numbers since the green line opened? I know they've had some trouble with delays due to freight traffic that might be pushing ridership down, but I'm curious if the green line caused a bump at all.

Re: Suburbs - General Topics
Sounds like an expansion, not a move. They're growing rapidly, already have 400 employees in NE Minneapolis, and the new building is only expected to house 300. With wanting to include big solar arrays and wind turbine(s?), I'm not sure the core would have been ideal.

Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
Whoever is operating the vikings web cam today doesn't appear to find the truss installation at all interesting. Last time they were putting up a truss segment the web cam spent most of the time watching it.
